Video Of The Day POLINA SUFFER
Drawing their name from “Paulina 1880” from the 20th Century French poet and writer Pierre Jean Jouve, Polina Suffer, the Turin, Italy-based Gothic Darkwave duo Tommaso Leporale and Beatrice Bartolini, are still suffering, probably for eternity due to the insane human affairs, announcing the band’s forthcoming second album, “The Birth of Rage”, to be released over the year, while dropping the Official Video by Ruben Donno and Davide Pepe for the new single and first preview “Empty State”.
Cold, spooky, and desolate minimal synthy poetic omen, reveals darkness is coming, urging relentless hard-hitting mechanical drum beats through a jagged pulsing meandering, swarmed by jittery buzzing throbs, icy whirring sweeps of forlorn synth drifts and eerie ghostly howls, whilst dual male/female vocals fuse dead spoken words, aloof fear, and bleak screams into sinister glaring shivers of pain and emptiness.
Creative black and white visuals by Ruben Donno create an engaging ghost story about three gothic black-clad wanderers and a symbolic girl in white to sync with the macabre essence of the soundtrack. A grim wooded backdrop with an abandoned apartment building sets the stage for Davide Pepe and Polina Suffer’s imaginative editing skills that use computer-generated techniques to further the dark supernatural vibes.
