WL//WH Video Of The Day: PARIS ALEXANDER “Lost In The City”

Video Of The Day  Paris Alexander

Brighton based, British coldwave / post-punk singer, songwriter, music producer and long time Antipole collaborator, Paris Alexander, returns with a third video and last single before the release of his solo debut album via his own Blue Door Production, for the modern dystopic track “Lost In The City”, ready to mesmerize the listener with magnetic guitars and soulfully painful charismatic vocalizations.

Propelled by steady punchy drum beats, “Lost In The City” draws up shimmering, atmospheric guitar riffs, deep sinuous bassline, and warm airy keyboard chords, whilst meandering poignant melodies pulse wistfully in unison with breathless baritone croons and stark, strained quivering vocals to ebb and flow between fond lost memories and the technological isolation of present times.

Dramatic, obsequious perspectives shatter the south bank of the Thames River in London where cool black iron statues haunt the shoreline, parks, and buildings of Rotherhithe, Bermondsey and Surrey Quays with feline designs and soulless stares. Graffiti strewn streets cut through alternate realities cast in obscure murals, cloudy skies, sprawling modern skylines, and dizzying dark sea views to form a disorienting configuration wound in the sauntering paths of back alley wanderings transfixed by the weeping willow’s undergrowth of bewitching passions.
