WL//WH Video Of The Day Paradox Obscur
Fresh from a record deal with Metropolis Records and the consequent announcement of the upcoming full-length collection entitled “Singles & Rarities”, due out on March 12th, 2021, Athens-based, Greek dark electronic duo Paradox Obscur, comprised of Kriistal Ann and Toxic Razor, have released a spacey video for the electronic /ambient stand-alone single “Universe”, only available on Spotify.
one of these “quarantine” songs – Kriistal Ann reveals – we worked at home, and we decided to publish alone because quite different from the band’s typical sound and style.
Retro muted keyboard notes rise and fall dramatically with obsessively tight, droning bass tone danger, airy metronomic beats, and icy bright synth swirls to build mystical anticipation around the distant melancholy of fragilely piercing vocoder-dusted female vocals’ release of sibylline prediction, regarding a new beginning inspired through light, insight, and balance.
Outer space satellite feed captures the peaceful blue and white textures of Earth spinning against the majestic milky way horizon. Time-lapse photography, up-close zoom lens angles, and split-screen editing techniques alter time and dimension into curious fragments, reflecting an alternate “Universe” of our own making. 180 degree turns twist a pink weightless spaceman along the fiery cosmic tail of a moonbeam, veering off course into an asteroid field, where an eerie gravitational pull emits millions of man-made lights into an infinitesimal flow of quantic shadows to elicit feelings of awe.
Paradox Obscur‘s upcoming collection album, entitled “Singles & Rarities”, is slated for release, CD & Digital, on March 12th, 2021 through Metropolis Records, on pre-order on the label website here.
