Video Of The Day O₩LS
Drawing inspiration from post-punk and goth genres, O₩LS explores themes of death, impermanence, and the inevitable end that awaits. The music blends elements of darkwave and electronic sounds, creating a brooding soundscape that delves into the darker aspects of human experience.
O₩LS, the macabre Synthpunk project of producer Emy Collum, hailing from Longford, Ireland, foreshadows the forthcoming 6th of June release of his debut album, “Death Games,” via Negative Gain Productions, with an Official Video for the lead track, “Give Me Your Stare.”

Encroached in a dark and hazy surreal aura, “Give Me Your Stare” layers icy uncanny chimes and dramatic glowing synth swathes, over clattering and lashing drum programming alongside ominously rumbling and chugging bass undulations, whilst shapeshifting vocals weave distant restlessness with sensual baritones and suggestive whispers, to express the feeling of not being able to think straight when looking at a tempting person.
The Official Video, produced by Nathan Sheridan, depicts the mental struggle of the song by placing shapeshifting lights, by John-Luke O’Reilly, over OWLS as he performs “Give Me Your Stare” with black leather gloves and a chain at The Playground Studio Dublin & Berlin. The source of the conflict is revealed to be ‘Vodka’, a disturbed demon girl who dances seductively whilst chained to a cross, giving insight into the nature of the lyrical obsession.
O₩LS‘ upcoming debut album, “Death Games,” is set for release on June 6th 2025, via Negative Gain Records.
Be sure to check out O₩LS live shows at the Pawnshop Bunker, Dublin, Saturday, June 21st, for a very special ‘in the round’ show and at The Old Blue Last, London, Friday, June 27th.
