WL//WH Video of the Day: OLEN’K “Aerial”

Video Of The Day OLEN’K

French eclectic dark electronic band, Olen’K, based in Limoges, make the most of the forced separation from stages, while working on new material, to release a stunning video, directed by Alexandre Berthet, for the cinematic track “Aerial”, taken from their 2018 4th studio album ‘Architextures” produced by Remy Pelleschi of Mlada Fronta to draw a dramatic combination of light and dark, life and death through universal visual cues swept in macabre beauty and potent psychological triggers.

Trip hoppy bass vibrations sputter dirty reverb into steady clattering downtempo beats, hypnotically flowing with ringing icy bright synth melodies, swirling around airy layered female vocal harmonies excruciatingly dreamy, impassioned, and powerful glow.

Confessional lyrics describe the deep yearning, fascination, and obsessive adoration brought forth between a couple in love and the aching anxiety that exists when they are apart.

A Lynchian Gothic Romance casts a magical forest in deep black and white contrasts, where a beautiful woman’s body lies wrapped in plastic, like a bride, with a gaze of death aimed toward an eternally grey sky. Black rivers run dry beneath a tear-stained cheek, while light breezes blow blades of grass along spinning treetops and dancing fields, drawing a rebirth of pure reflections and warm barefoot walks from the ethereal nightmare’s subconscious incandesce.

Keep up with Olen’K:
