WL//WH Video Of The Day: NICO AMARA “L’ORA VUOTA” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day  NICO AMARA

Nico Amara, the Basel, Switzerland-based solo Noir Darkwave / Minimal Synth project of the Experimental composer and multidisciplinary artist Nicole Fior-Greant, drops a video by herself and Zak Greant for “L’ora Vuota” (The Empty Hour), the second excerpt and fifth song from her recently released DIY debut album “Constraints.”

A song about darkness, illusions, and emptiness, “L’ora Vuota” compels a cold, hypnotic, and gloomy aura of ominous trembling synth drones, distant haunting echoes, and a persistent metronomic, tapping drum programming, to construct clattering and buzzing seesaw mists around gentle, sad, and slightly frightened vocals, turning to sensual wicked whispers amid groaning ghostly swathes.

The symbolic, thought provoking, black-and-white Official Video was filmed and final edited by Zak Greant, but the concept, assembly edit, and imagery were created by the musician herself. Nico Amara performs L’Ora Vuota while casting subtle silhouettes across her handmade projected visuals, syncing seamlessly with the mysterious lights and shadows of the soundtrack.
