WL//WH Video Of The Day: MRCH “Escape The Dark”

Video Of The Day MRCH

Indie electronic DIY duo from Phoenix, Arizona, MRCH (pronounced like the month), made of Mickey Louise and Jesse Pangburn, seamlessly injects their signature sound, inspired by Lynchian atmospheres and late night drives, into a Synthwave Music Video for “Escape The Dark”, the new single taken from the forthcoming EPAshes”, scheduled for release on March 12, 2026.

The song explores a surreal neon-lit world inspired by dream logic and analog nostalgia – drawing from the cinematic atmosphere of David Lynch and the moody synthpop lineage of artists like Ladytron and Cannons.’

An attempt toEscape The Dark built around a surreal yet jarring neon-strobing haze revolves around an obsessively hypnotic bouncing bass line, punctuated by metronomic punchy drum patterns, and tinkly, flickering icy synth stabs, with occasional washes of strident distortion, to construct the dissociative backdrop for dreamy, lush female vocals, seductively singing about running away from the past, ready to begin anew.

In the visuals, MRCH performs “Escape The Dark” in a sultry red-hued nightclub setting where rows of flashing lights, layers of depth-defying overlays and mysterious “Lost Highway” footage sync flawlessly with the soundtrack.
