Video Of The Day Modern Time Machines
Los Angeles-based shoegaze veteran quartet Modern Time Machines are finally going to release their sophomore album ‘MTM’ next April 6.
I’m reminded of them since the MySpace days and their fine debut album ‘Continuity Girl’ in 2012 and I’m glad they’re back better than ever.
The first single from the LP “High Noon”, clear evidence of a band constantly perfecting their sound over the years, unfolds over dreamy waves of gorgeously lush guitar layers, crystalline harmonies and wondrous otherworldly reverb-doused male and female vocals interplays, remind me of Prefab Sprout after a shoegaze shock treatment, that leave you breathless, totally immersive and, after the whirlwind noisy ending, madly in love.
Check out the video directed by MTM’s singer-guitarist Ben Golomb and filmed by Michael Shu, which, along with Golomb’s natural penchant for guitar pedals, shows also his passion for cinema, and especially for director Paul Thomas Anderson apparently…
Keep up with Modern Time Machines:
