I recall this Mexican all-girl outfit from Tijuana for last year shogazey noise-pop single titled ‘Viceversa’, at the time they were a trio and a debut album was apparently already on the way, now the band has showed up as a duo of Amor Amezcua (percussion/synths) and Estrella Sánchez (guitar/voice) with a new single from a different titled full-length, “Pasar de las Luces”, due out on February 2018 via their new label, the L.A.-based Innovative Leisure.
‘Ojos En El Carro’ is an highly suggestive, heartfelt and enthralling journey into ethereal realms with the somber and soaring voice floating above hypnotic melodic hooks built by sweeping and shimmered layers of effected guitar to create an amazing and captivating slab of very ‘4AD’ sounding dreampop bliss, impossible not to get lost into.
Mint Field are a further proof about how the Mexican music scene is on fire these days.
