WL//WH Video Of The Day: MEDEJIN “The Garden” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day MEDEJIN

Started in 2016, Seattle, Washington, Medejin is the ethereal Dreamwave band led by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Jenn Taranto, a native of Medellin, Colombia, from which the project draws its name, along with Rebecca Gutterman (guitar), Ramsey Troxel (bass), and Matthew Cooke (drums).

The foursome have dropped the music video, directed by Brennan Moring, for the second single and title track taken from Medejin’s upcoming  debut album, “The Garden”, due out on October 20, 2023 via Icy Cold Records (EU) and Den Tapes (US).

Exploring themes of love, loss, grief, life, death, fear, and motherhood, Medejin’s highly anticipated debut LP “The Garden” carries the listener on a cathartic journey into a dream space where sadness and beauty intertwine.  Floating between Dream Pop, Post Rock, and Indie, “The Garden” is heavy and fragile all at once, wistful yet joyous and every bit the sound of Medejin.

A beautiful, chill, and immersive dance tune, “The Garden” fuses soft warm blowing synth swathes with obsessively pulsing whirring strains, hypnotic dry beats, sparse crips percussions and minimal piercing guitar glimmers, to uplift a sad, heartfelt confession of nostalgic longing, with a dazzling melancholic euphoria of regret and hope.

Dramatic, symbolic visuals by Brennan Moring shuffle intimate spotlight reflections with painful red tints and dreamy lush flowers to sync seamlessly with the emotional edge of the soundtrack. Imaginative set design by Bella Petro creates evocative backdrops for a gorgeously vibrant and barefoot moonlight dance where surreal flows, shadowy silhouettes, and endless sunset visions coalesce into a transfixing dreamlike dancefloor companion.

Medejin‘s debut LP “The Garden”, is slated for release, in Vinyl/CD & Digital formats, on October 20, 2023, via Icy Cold Records (EU) and Den Tapes (US).

Keep up with Medejin:
