WL//WH Video Of The Day: MARINA YOZORA “Daffodils” (Official Music Video)

WL//WH Video Of The Day  MARINA YOZORA

Marina Yozora is a Dream Pop singer-songwriter with a unique history that gives her the label of a Third Culture Kid, which means she grew up in three different countries namely, Japan (Tokyo), the United States (Houston, TX), and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city). A DIY Official Music Video, shot by Lauren Lotz, for her sophomore single “Daffodil”, written in the form of an open letter to the sky, explores loss, sadness, and pain.

The project’s aim is to “cross the ocean” with my artworks, to reach many people’s hearts, by reminding that we are all “underneath the sky we all share”. Marina = ocean  Yozora = night sky (Japanese)

After a shocking break-up beautiful soulful dreamy vocals croon with soft yet high and piercing harmonies layered over gauzy guitar strums, icy piano stabs, and a mechanical clapping rhythm, to evoke stirring moods of extreme heartache and longing unto a dramatic slightly distorted ending, left suddenly cold and alone.

In the DIY Official Music Video, shot by Lauren Lotz, you will see Marina Yozora wearing a long cotton gown dress while playfully posing in a field of dainty yellow flowers. Her eye contact pulls you into the intimate emotionality of the soundtrack amid a nostalgic seaside journey where a message drawn in the sand brings forth the deep melancholy of lyrical poetry.

Keep up with Marina Yozora:
