Video of the Day Mar Violeta
Formed in 2022, Mar Violeta is a Mexican Horror/Post Punk duo from Mexico City who, follow up their debut EP, “Derecho a la Muerte,” with a new lyric video for the single “No Mundo” to announce the upcoming release of the new EP, “Nunca Jamás.”
A doom-laden misty realm oozes by the ominously sonorous throbs of a brooding bassline fueled by the steady hypnotic tempo from a lashing drum programming, while an eerie flow of poignant weeping motifs, amid sad reverberated guitar riffs, encircle gravelly spoken words, shifting into lush pain-filled baritone broods then to a creepy whispery chant, exploring the cold bitterness of the shadow and the friction and uncertainty held within.
In the lyric video, you will find both Spanish and English lyrics that read like an esoteric poem waiting to be deciphered. Visually, you will see a Gothic Horror animation drenched in heady darkness where computer generated editing creates a live, shapeshifting version of Mar Violeta performing “No Mundo.”
