Los Kowalski is a Mexican power trio from Mérida fresh from releasing their sophomore “Sonica” EP on Hole Records.
On the title track“Sonica” the band’s imaginative sonic spectrum is rich and dense and underlines their ability of breathe new life and character into classic elements of shoegaze, krautrock and psichedelia, building on a tight, motorik drums, repetitive bass and filling synth lines backed by thick layers and layers of guitar echoing distortion loaded with heavy reverb and fuzz.
Proof of a constantly growing band, “Sonica” is an instinctive, feral and electric monster of a song that exudes passion and power and will drag you in a haze of emotional and hypnotizing heat and colour.
