WL//WH Video Of The Day: LES LONGS ADIEUX “La Luna”

WL//WH Video Of The Day  LES LONGS ADIEUX

Les Longs Adieux, the DIY  duo from Rome, Federica Garenna Lee (vocals, synth & programming) and Frank Marrelli (guitars), return with a new renowned bandmate, Johnny Rainbow, on bass, and with an electrifying 80s-inspired blend of iconic Italian New Wave with the most melodic ‘heavy’ tones of Gothic Rock, through  “La Luna,” the first excerpt from a forthcoming album, accompanied by a video by Giulia Ferilli and Nina Bonizzato.

A poem about the epic struggle with one’s shadow fires up racing drum beats and ominously grumbling bass lines, relentlessly throbbing under icy glaring swirls of melancholic synths and choppy abrasive guitar riffs laced with piercing licks, to sway with powerful female vocals, agonizing under the influence of “The Moon,” into relentless ripples of pain and dread.

After much thought about how to present the song to viewers, the decision was made not to add symbolic imagery into the animated performance so that viewers could see what a live show looks like. Giulia Ferilli and Nina Bonizzato shoot the video, while Federica Garenna Lee edits to set colorful neon lights, a strobing red lip sofa, and minimal electronic effects as the edgy modern backdrop for Les Longs Adieux as they perform “La Luna” with a new bass player, Johnny Rainbow.

Keep up with Les Longs Adieux:
