WL//WH Video Of The Day : Kurs Valüt “Ni”

Ukrainian “dnipropop” project Kurs Valüt based in Dniepro, fronted by composer/lyricist and vocalist Eugene Gordeev, as the most vigilant know, popped up a couple years ago with single tracks over Soundcloud and YouTube, often as demo versions.
The band have perfected a distinctive hybrid between brooding EBM, frantic electro and the most refined synth-pop, intense and ominuous, while remaining catchy and highly danceable. The Ukrainian singing, amazingly melodious and energetic, as we have already heard with Stepan i Meduza, fits perfectly with electronic music.

Kurs Valüt have finally released their 14-track debut album“Veselo”, on cassette and digital, via Ternopil based label Pincet, containing re-recorded and re-arranged versions of tracks, which were previously published as demo-versions, along the 3D graphic visuals of the song “Ni”.
Propelled by pulsing and hypnotic EBM-leaning bass lines, relentless crisp lashing drum machine beats and buzzing synths to underpin detached vocals building a tense and intense atmosphere with a driving dance-thrust, perfectly capturing the old-school industrial-synth feel of the 90’s combined with modern, sleek and restrained, elektro sound for a deftly produced, utterly infectious, dance floor killer.

A far too underestimated project beyond its borders.
