Keyboards And Red Lipstick, the French post-punk duo of Phil and Kim from Toulouse, recently joined by JB (guitars, production), have dropped the Asylum Party-tinged, second single of the year, titled “Guns”, taken from the forthcoming sophomore full-length album, “War Parade.”
The lyrics describe the emptiness, pain, loneliness, and desperation of a person who is suffering in a war-like existence.
Hypnotic mechanical drum patterns and quick pulsing, gloomy bass lines, layered with bobbling, jagged, crunchy guitar riffs together with plaintive, heavy-hearted lancinating leads, carry with a dire, obsessive pace tired, sorrowful female vocals into a final gunshot, “Guns in my hands/The void in my head/Alone with my pain”.
