WL//WH Video Of The Day: INCIRRINA “Presence” (Official Video) [Cold Transmission Music]

WL//WH Video Of The Day  INCIRRINA

Athens (GR) based duo Incirrina revealed publicly their brand new double single “Immersion” on September 13, through Cold Transmission Music (Germany). The highly talented musicians Irini Tini (synthesizers, vocals), and George Katsanos (synthesizers, drum machine, vocals) teamed up again with their long-time collaborator and poet Konstantinos Londos for this new work of high standards and aesthetics.

Incirrina rarely express their thoughts in verse not because they lack the means, but because the poet’s specific poetry articulates their thoughts, just as their music complements the poet perfectly. The introductory poem of their new release defines the theme of the verses in these two new songs, and Presence” is like a depiction of a moment, an event, or a sudden difference in the flow of time. It is a song about when a person becomes separate from the pull of the world and free will is activated.

More than this, the song’s music follows the currents they create with their tools: analog synths and vocals that stand out as they color the words with the music and the special timbre of the singer’s voice and always use orchestration that is full and abstract, for the most part.

The Poem

We gasp for air

In liquid jails

We learn to breathe

When all else fails

Inspiring people

Turn breath to choice

For us to share

Our human voice

The official video for “Presence”, directed by Nikos Chantzis (Press Eject and Give me the Tape), begins on a sunny day in Athens with Incirrina and Giogos Emmanouilidis purchasing an old-timey queen portrait from an antique shop on Ippokratous 185. We quickly find out that the artefact has a supernatural tie to the couple’s home when the lady in the painting, played by Alexia, takes physical form, steals a necklace, and runs away. After an afternoon spent trying to locate the mysterious phantom, a face off occurs in an urban nature area where magic, symbolism, and blood take hold.

Keep up with Incirrina:
