WL//WH Video of the Day: HEALEES “White Room”

Video of the Day  HEALEES

Our old acquaintances from the early days of the promising 2022 first EP, the Paris-based international quartet hailing from the US, Sweden, Belgium and France, made up of founders Bryan Quinn (Guitars, vocals, synths, percussion) and Renaud Chauré (Guitars, vocals), along with permanent bandmates Hillevi Robertsson (Bass, vocals) and ArthurChen (drums), return to WL//WH with a video clip for “White Room”, the first single lifted from the anticipated debut album“Coin de l’Oeil” due out on October 11, 2024, co-released by French labels Indie or Die, Hidden Bay Records and Safe Suburban Home (UK/US).

Nine tracks lyrically imbued with “stories of isolation, illness, illicit crushes, and heavy drugs, set to dreamy, driving shoegazey power-pop”

The Ride-sque “White Room” is rife with echoing ringing guitars, fluent mesmeric atmospherics, driving rhythms, and soft vocal harmonies with the band’s distinctive penchant for wistful melodies.

The song compels a vibrant surge of emotional turmoil carved by rippling and sparkling poignant guitar melodies wandering through thick grey sways of steady punchy drum beats and humming bass lines, to chime and swirl obsessively around airy compassionate vocals and high back-ups, coasting above and below the treacherous mists, into a groovy cleansing instrumental outflow of newfound insight.
