Give My Remains to Broadway, the Toronto, Ontario-based Post-Punk /Darkwave outfit led by goth duo Deegs (instruments) and Cartoon Ben (vocals), drops an Official Music Video by Toidzee for the second single of 2026, “Forever Awake.”
Dubbed as a “new romantic post-punk banger” about waiting for reunification, the song ignites rapid, sprightly beats to slap tensile, elastic bass lines, while meandering obsessive bleeding guitar melodies, along with distant anxious swirling synths, enfold restless, fearful male vocals and desperate echoes, with shuddering emotional spirals of angst, melancholy, and longing.
In the Official Music Video, directed and edited by Toidzee and styled by Ethan Cordner, an intimate black and white bedroom sets the introspective backdrop for Give My Remains to Broadway as they perform “Forever Awake” under transformative lights and shadows. An array of symbolic imagery brings forth ideas of darkness, disconnection, brokenness, and inverted perception, syncing seamlessly with the eternal conflict expressed by the soundtrack.
