Video Of The Day  GALÁN / VOGT

The collaborative project between Paris-based Australian dream-pop vocalist and musician, one half of dream-pop duo Heligoland, Karen Vogt and Málaga-bred, Spanish ambient experimental composer and multi-instrumentalist Pepo Galán AKA GALÁN / VOGT drop a conceptual DIY video for the evocative ambient track “The Dark Opens the Way”,  a first glimpse from the pair’s forthcoming debut album “The Sweet Wait”, mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri at NYC’s Black Knoll Studio, due out on November 12, 2021.

Soft glowing auras cut in minimal tinkling piano keys expand droning synth modulations to shiver anxiously under long drawn outbreathes of beautiful, atmospheric female vocals releasing cathartic inhibitions into a relaxing flow of inner consciousness, amid the arousing, sentient bass tone’s primal vibrations.

Introspective lyrics dwell in the mind’s eye to release tension, meditate and let “The dark open the way.”

“I filmed the river grasses at one particular spot in the river. It looked different each time I walked past it – depending on the time of the day and the light.”

Abstract textures form breathing shadows of impending doom floating weightless in an alternate universe of tears. Ripples of fear reflect distant clouds over tranquil waters to evoke subconscious imagery of faraway, forgotten dreams to light internal doorways of murky memories with glistening rays of transformation.
