WL//WH Video of the Day: FEMALE GHOST “Premonitions” (Video Oficial)

Video Of The Day  FEMALE GHOST

Female Ghost, the new Bedroom Pop / Alt Gaze project of Colombian-born artist Alejandra Guzmán, has shared a music video directed by musician, producer and label head Daniel Romero (Desasociado) and Cris Soto, for Female Ghost’s second single “Premonitions,” via Denver, Colorado-based DIY imprint Tres Incendios Records.

“Premonitions” plunges into a dense surreal ambience of lingering, aching melancholy, anchored by moody flat shifting drum beats and sonorously plump bass pulses, atop which wistful swaying shimmery reverberations, woven by electric strummed guitars, and strained, haunted synth spirals, swell immersively underneath a soft, lush and colorful cloud of layered female vocals, longing for an attuned mindset, amidst unpredictable blasting sounds that distract with fear of deadly intentions.

The Official Video made by Desasociado/Daniel Romero, Cris Soto, and Alejandra Guzmán, uses a creative combination of color, symbol, light, and shadow to depict the heady, metaphysical state talked about in the lyrics. A man, played by Desasociado himself, wonders if he is asleep or awake as he searches his home for a mysterious woman played by Elizabeth Moreno. When she finally appears, his wristwatch turns blurry and spins counterclockwise to open a portal into a timeless realm. Then, his vision becomes sort of underwater-like, with smooth edges and glowing lights. The next morning, after a fun night under the stars, distress sinks in, because “When I wake up, she fades away.” An enlightening tale about an up-and-down journey through a range of perceptions explores the temperatures that exist between bliss and agony, hope and despair, loneliness and comfort.
