Scottish music squadron based in Glasgow, Fauves, straddles the line between electronica, indie pop, psych, funk and r&b into a highly contagious form of self-proclaimed “Art Funk.”
Following last year’s four singles and an award for Best Alternative act by the Scottish Alternative Music Awards the six-piece band drops a Psychedelic Sci-Fi video, created by Kasparas Vidunas and Eric J. Liddle of Humble Film Productions, for the bittersweet love song “Ends of Me.”
Hot and soulful layers of feather-light male vocals croon sexy broken-hearted romance with atmospheric backup hums over humid sparkling textures of sinuously groovy slapping bass lines and glistening funky guitar licks to spark droning reverb-drenched clouds of claustrophobic tension, while warped icy bright synth melodies and wistful twinkling keyboard chords carve nostalgic vibes into an illusory world of fading love, as old feelings drift sadly into a horizon of shattered dreams.
Other-worldly explorations merge parallel planes of existence around a lost traveller, whose only shot at survival lies in an enigmatic briefcase. Disorienting awakenings cast muted pink sun rays over a long meandering path leading to a psychedelic domain, where dragon eyes reflect over ancient pyramids, Atlantean portals, and intersecting timelines. Sweeping camera work and keen editing build anticipation, humour, and intrigue, whilst dramatic acting skills carry the engaging plot into a mind-bending finale of dizzying proportions.
