Barcelona based new wave / synth-pop act Fatamorgana, named after a phenomenon of optical illusion that appears on the horizon or in the desert, are going to release their 11-track debut album “Terra Alta” on 20th February via London based independent punk, but not only, imprint La Vida Es Un Mus Discos.
Started as a sort of minimalistic bedroom project in the Catalan summer of 2017, the duo, comprised of vocalist from post-punk quartet Belgrado Patrycja Anna Proniewska and synthesist Louis Harding, dropped their first self-released cassette single at the start of 2018 and subsequently spent the latter part of the year touring Europe and the west coast of North America.
In one of the first two previews titled “La Atlántida”, clearly inspired by the ‘lost city of Atlantis’, deep low amplitude bassline underlines quick resonant claps and rhythmic reiterative beats. Skewed swirling synths ebb and flow with hypnotic and intricate harmonies in sync with beautiful, soaring, strong vocals of love, wonder and dreams enveloping the trance-inducing atmosphere in an aura of mistery, adventure and freedom.
