I simply adore this Swedish shoegaze/dreamgaze, as they aptly define themself, 3-piece from Malmö, called Echo Ladies, characterised by those subtle vocals melodies that worm their way into a sea of distorted guitars and electronic textures and stay in your ears long after the final notes ring out.
After their stunning debut self-titled debut EP, split between Hybris (Sweden) and Sonic Cathedral (rest of Europe), are back with a new single/video at the same time as the first ever gigs abroad, announcing also the release of the debut album “Pink Noise” due out on June 8, 2018.
“Bedroom” doesn’t deny the band’s unique ability to hypnotize and stun since the first note, pounding beats, solid bass drones, reverbed guitars resounding throughout, shivering synths which provide the consistent eerie backdrop to the distinctive and captivating voice of Matilda, immensely sweet but at the same time intriguing dark, fluctuating through a timeless atmospheres built on subtle conflict of calm and tension, semplicity and intricacy, lights and shadows, in an absolutely unmissable sliver of ‘pink noisey’ modern pop.
Check out the amazing video of ancient pink nuances, directed by Ebba Ågren from the band Wy, a mysterious short tale about hotel room, car ride, monster claws and blood.
Keep up with Echo Ladies :
