Dusken Harmony, the ’80s-inspired Dark Synth-doused solo project from Belarus, returns with another subconscious Video Clip for “The Shadow” taken from last August’s EP “Disarmed.”
A struggle with “The Shadow” self arouses the hypnotic solemn mid-tempo pace of a cold thumping drum machine along sneaky warbling bass lines under a dizzying isolation of buzzing swirling synths and obsessively trembling, sad glistening guitar melodies, to engulf haunted emotional vocals in restless torture of dark dissociative moods.
The Official Video imaginatively uses lights and shadows around a dramatic performance of Dusken Harmony to create the nightmarish vision of the soundtrack. We can symbolically see the horrifying effect of the transformation as a warm guiding lamp of illumination and care becomes weak and flickery under the duress of heavy encroaching darkness. This causes fear and panic to strike at the heart of a tormented soul who is hanging on by a thin thread of light based consciousness.
