Video Of The Day Double Darkness
In anticipation of the upcoming April 26, 2024 release of the debut album, “City Scars”, via Red Maze Records and Graveyard Dancefloor Records, the Brussels, Belgium Post-Punk/Gothic duo Double Darkness unveils a haunting video for their second single, “Last Sesh”, featuring guitarist Corvus Von Burtle from The Radiant Light.
Since 2022, partners in crime L and S, fusing a dire and evocative array of sound elements from Post-Punk, Industrial, Minimal Wave, and Industrial, explore plagued, unsettling, and apocalyptic Electronic-laden urban soundscapes shrouded in a barren and deadly decadent darkness.
An ominously eerie screeching, distorted, doom-laden aura stirred by slow lilting tinny beats, sparse hypnotic kicks, heavy buzzing low ends, piercing guitar strains and somberly desolate drifting synth melodies, haunt and encompass a bewitching and mesmerizing male-female vocal interplay, shifting tragic pain with withdrawn gloom, and ritual chants, to remove fear from a “Last Sesh” with death.
Visually, a stream of symbolic imagery shuffles with spooky red light visions and strobing performance footage to sync with the macabre elements of the soundtrack. Enigmatic flash scenes of subliminal configurations, stained glass iconography, and shadowy underground wanderings create an air of mystery around Double Darkness.
