WL//WH Video Of The Day: DISORIENTATIONS “Not Here” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day Disorientations

Disorientations, the Belgian Post-Punk trio from Antwerp, made up of lifelong friends Luka Van Camp (bass), Tomas Serrien (drums) and Niels Elsermans (vocals, guitar), announce the release of the band’s sophomore album, “Lost Today”, due out on April 19 via [PIAS] Recordings, with the new single, Not Here, paired with an Official Video by Jonas Hollevoet.

Not Here” is the second single released from the new album. Together with the first teaser ‘Drift’ it shows a huge leap in the band’s songwriting confidence. “Lost Today” combines their harsh emotional sound, raw rhythmic power, and captivating vocals with more in-depth songwriting. The album is a collection of introspective and haunting songs and embodies the compelling moods and emotions of the members of the band.

Deeply emotional and tragic, doomy humming bass lines and steady thudding drum beats that flow flatly under sharp sparkling pain-fueled guitar riffs, weaving and piercing relentlessly, to engulf tortured lovelorn vocals in the unbearable ache felt when a loved one is “Not Here.”

Abstract, interpretive, and symbolic visuals by Jonas Hollevoet sync disconnected, strobing lyric-injected ‘screens’ with the intense heartache of the soundtrack. An array of hues, textures, and kaleidoscopic configurations veil and contort a mysterious backdrop, allowing only glimpses and flashes of a fading memory.
