Whilst making music together in various projects since 2005, the Mexico City-based Disociados is the latest two-piece band, started in 2023, influenced by Post Punk / Dark Wave sounds, who have just released a lyric video for “Oscuridad”, the fifth single from the forthcoming debut album, “Funerales.”
Like a nightmare or a horror story, a lost soul walks in the shadows of reality with ghosts and demons driven by merciless marching drum beats, thunderous bass throbs, and urgent, sinister icy bright synth melodies, to encapsulate dry distorted growls and angsty manic cries with an unescapable sense of doom and “oscuridad.”
A crumbling haunted house where vampires and skeletons hide sets the ominous backdrop for an evocative performance by Disociados. Hellish lyrics, as if scratched by a claw, lend insight whilst strobing lights, shapeshifting blackness, and flashlight glimpses of lurking monsters incite fear in the minds of watchers.
