WL//WH Video Of The Day: DIMA MIDBORN “Cher Vivo”

Video Of The Day  DIMA MIDBORN

Dima Midborn is a Russian native bassist, composer and producer based in Belgrade, Serbia who weaves a distinctive blend of Jazz and Wave textures into his eponymous Minimal Avant-Rock project, to bring forth the single “Cher Vivo”, with an accompanied video by Fedor Kozlov.

The lush and expansive “Cher Vivo,” enriched with magnetic baritone vocals and secret suggestive whispers explains how the things we do for ease, to fit into society, or even to be virtuous can hold us back from living life to the fullest, while a heady, electrifying flurry of jazzy saxophone blows, mesmeric, crisp rolling percussions, and engrossing bass pulsing grooves support the notion with vibrant soulful flavors.

In the surreal black and white video by Fedor Kozlov, the set is minimal as Dima Midborn, dressed in a plain white outfit, with a bass strapped high on his chest, performs “Cher Vivo” in front of a robot and an invisible man. A hypnotic graphic stream projects over him onto a blank wall as he taps his foot and slowly sways his head with a curious expression.
