Brand new single and new video from Barcelona‘s synthwave / post-punk duo, comprised of Dispël (vocals) and Àlex Almarza (guitars), Dexist, in advance of their new sophomore album “Los No Lugares” (any reference to the ‘non-lieux’ and the ‘supermodernity’ theorized by the French anthropologist Marc Augé?) due out May, 24th via Musarañas Records.
“Tu Juego Perfecto”, following the path of their synth-laden previous single “No Tenim Por”, where the electronic elements take the guitar-driven sound over the post-punk of their debut, “Eléctrica”, is driven by a hypnotic bass and repetitive sturdy drum machines. Inter-woven with glum and evocative synth layers, separated by sparse, icy guitar leads and emotionally detatched vocals. We enter a dense, hazy, disturbing ambiance that perfectly captures the growing sense of angst and menacing claustrophobia caused by, ”the perfect game”.
Lured into this new electronic-course seems to have ignited new and exciting perspectives the band has undertaken with rave results. The anticipated countdown to their sophomore album could not have emerged in a more brilliantly stalker-esque way…
