In anticipation of their soon to be released third studio album, “Indiana,” due out on November 17, 2025, via Candlepin Records, Dendrons, the Chicago, Illinois Experimental Rock five piece, made up of Dane Jarvie (vocals/guitar/synth), Zak Sprenger (synth/guitar), Matt Kase (bass/synth/vocals), John MacEachen (guitar/samples), Nick Togliatti (drums), and Stef Roti (drums), drops a music video for the third and final single “B4”.

There is a yearning encoded within the melodies, within the lyrics—a yearning to reconnect with the memory of the people who once defined our youth and gave meaning to physical space. It is about grappling with how to honor those who have come and gone in our lives and slipped further and further into abstraction with the passing of time.

The song emphasizes the band’s pronounced melodic “melting pop’ vein and a startling cinematic bent, through a painstakingly constructed sonic architecture that gracefully yet passionately retains and builds up emotional tension, which lingers and remains latent between the subtle harmonic meanders, to fizzle out rather than erupt into a seemingly predictable finale.

The stirring, enveloping breathes of a lush, glowing orchestration, awashed in wistful, glistening hues, surrounds and fills the space left by bare bone sweetly ringing pinpoint guitar chords and moody bass pulses, underpinned by an impalpable clicking rhythm that grows silently, to bounce and ramp up with an ephemeral noisy edge, alongside anxious dreamy vocal longing, rising before waning, into a brief, frustrated release of “I can’t find you.” (to float seamlessly, in the video version, in a zero-gravity atmospheric instrumental coda.)

The track and companion video are evocative of liminal space and fractured memories of old haunts and stomping grounds that completely overshadow the relationships once experienced within them.

Beginning with a grinding chainsaw atop an outdoor table, a journey from a hard material nostalgia of dismembered action figures and a toilet paper rolled house to an inside the auto, car wash brings forth feelings of cleansing, letting go and transformation.

After the nervy, frenzied ‘Post-Punk’ sophomore 2022 LP, “5-3-8”, Dendrons seems to explore off-kilter, bolder and mellower unpredictable sound leanings, streaked with surreal psychedelic and post-rock glimmers. Just a few days until we can listen to the rest…
