WL//WH Video of the Day: DAWID BESTRY “Soon Summer Will Come (feat. Wiktoria Borecka)”

Video of the Day  Dawid Bestry

WL//WH welcomes the Polish 20-year-old Dream Pop / Shoegaze guitarist and composer from Rybnik, Dawid Bestry with the video for his latest stirring atmospheric Shoegaze single, “Soon Summer Will Come”.

“Together with vocalist Wiktoria Borecka,“Soon Summer Will Come” captures a full range of emotions such as melancholy, longing, hope, joy, but also despair and pain, all in one dreamy, Shoegaze song.”

An evocative reverb-strewn shimmery intro, laced with lightly strummed guitars and wistful tinkly key loops, describes a traumatic experience wept in carelessness, abandonment, and confusion. But, dreams of summer’s cathartic influence lie on the not so distant horizon, pulling swirling obsessive mists from a gauzy swarm of urgent fuzzy distorted expanses, underlie by an increasing building rhythmic tension, surging forward upon layers of emotional vocals, from dreamy to angsty haunted abandon, that radiate, echo, blur and detach under a dark celestial sky.

The accompanying DIY visuals showcase an interesting and diverse choice of city locations to bring out the adventurous and artistic charms of Dawid Bestry, Victorriaa, Ewa Golubińska, and Grazia De Gregorio. The clip is shot in a candid amateur style with strategic editing grittily shifting momentums and tonal filters over the various settings, honing in on a condemned building where the duo spray paint the name of the song in neon red. Delicate windblown wildflowers shuffle into the mix, giving a thought-provoking balance and perspective.
