Video of the Day  DARKWAYS

Currently busy with their “Resonance” Euro Tour, and fresh from an acclaimed performance at the Young and Cold Festival in Augsburg at the end of last month, Darkways, the dynamic trio from Barcelona, took time to drop a new DIY single/video for “Fading Time,” confirming themselves as one of the most electrifying European and beyond Post-punk / Darkwave bands nowadays.

“Fading Time” explores the fragility of human connection against the relentless passage of time by tracing the slow drifting apart of two souls caught in a current that won’t wait. Time shows no mercy; erasing words, memories, and dreams, leaving only shadows and silence.”

A fateful bell tolls to stir up a tidal wave of relentless lashing beats, ominously churning bass throbs, and frenzied, icy spiraling synths, pierced by passionate sparkling guitars, to stormily sway around dry, lovelorn vocals, lost in a dire regret of helpless nostalgia, compelling the body to convulse and shake ceaselessly under the strobing lights of a sweaty shadowy cave.

“In that twilight space between the present and what’s been lost, the song finds its strength: a cold yet emotional reflection on the inevitable erosion brought by every passing second.”

Cinematic black and white visuals travel through the Montjuïc Cemetery in Barcelona, where beautiful funerary art by Catalan artists syncs with the macabre tragedy of the soundtrack. During the journey, the doors to the Batlló Pantheon, a Neo-Egyptian mausoleum decorated with seraphims and owls, slowly open and inside Darkways, performs “Fading Time” under the transformative lights and shadows of the inner chamber.
