Video Of The Day CURD NEPTUN ft. Future Love
Curd Neptun is the multifaceted Lo-fi Bedroom Pop music project of multi-instrumentalist and composer Thomas Böhm based in Giessen, Germany, not too far from Frankfurt am Main, to understand, which often intersects and harmonizes with his life partner and likewise musician Maike Mandik alias Future Love.
Cold-Garage, Slacker, Antifolk and Dreamy Cinematic are some of the tags Thomas uses to define its both minimalistic yet intricate sound, but to which we can easily add off-kilter Psychedelia, sludgy Blues and dark angular Post-Punk, laced with intriguing surreal vein, carved by his alluring deep baritone, alternate between poetic ‘sprechgesang’ and heartful crooning, that contrasts well with the clearer wistful vocal delivery of his partner.
Curd Neptun dropped a symbolic DIY video for “Blindspots”, a dreamy duet featuring Future Love, from last month’s 4-track EP “Harpies.”
Cloaked in an immersive, introspective droning aura of stomping and skipping drum beats, steadily sonorous murky bass throbs, wispy obsessive subtly glistening threads of guitar reverberations and muted jarring twangy frequencies, a wonderfully comforting emotional male-female vocal interplay, merging beautifully sad piercing cries with intense heartfelt strength, to envelop the listener in uplifting observations of alertness, connection, and hope.
Inspirational outdoor DIY visuals take the viewer on a soul-stirring walk through an enchanted forest. Abstract shape-shifting textures, busy scurrying worker ants, and breathless panoramic views sync seamlessly with the devotional vibes of the soundtrack whilst wobbly camera work and a surprise smiling face bring a kind, personal touch to the natural vision.
