WL//WH Video Of The Day: CRUEL REFLECTIONS “Flesh Fantasies” (Official Music Video)

Video Of The Day  CRUEL REFLECTIONS

Longtime faves since the early days of WL//WH, Cruel Reflections, the Los Angeles-based outfit, made of Julio Solares (Vocals, Synth), David Solis (Drums), Edgar Martinez (Guitar) and the new bass player, Anthony Edwards Martinez, make a delightful return after a long hiatus.

The band veer from the original Post Punk/Gothic foundations into a more Dark Wave sound with “Flesh Fantasies”, the first single since the new merger, which comes with an Official Music Video starring Stacey Velasco, building anticipation for a third album due out later this year, 2025.

A torn soul fancifully remembers a sensual encounter then, as memories begin to fade, bitterness sinks in, driving anxious steady drum beats and sinuously humming, sonorous bass pulses through relentless effect-filled guitar lines, weaving obsessive piercing pain, alongside wistful synth glows, around dueling vocals of tragic romantic longing and cold, stern power battling it out for control.

The Official Music Video with cameras by Edgar Martinez and Elena Avila stars Stacey Velasco as a sad pantomime who dances behind a red veil while Cruel Reflections performs “Flesh Fantasies” in the wings. There is a picture in picture square integrated into the video that shows the dancer break down, cry, and wipe the makeup mask, applied by Frida Ruiz, off of her face, syncing seamlessly with the duality between fantasy and reality explained in the lyrics.

Keep up with Cruel Reflections :
