Stalwart of Berlin‘s underground scene, as co-founder of the Post-punk projects Das Das and Glaas, Cosey Mueller is a self-made musician and composer who explores danceable, both raw and melodic, synth-driven electro sounds with a straightforward punk attitude combined with a deep-rooted affection for Rock ‘n’ Roll and magnetic vocals.
The German artist foretastes her forthcoming third album “Softcore”, due out on October 10th via Static Age, with a Music Video directed and edited by Cosey Mueller herself for the new single “Falsches Ding”.
Feeling insecure about having a kindred connection to what ‘the great people’ consider the “Falsches Ding / Wrong Thing” drives murky churning bass loops and crisp clapping metronomic drum programming, bouncing through an obsessive tunnel of anxious icy bright synth stabs, abrasive ringing guitar riffs, and nervous echoes, whilst aloof, devil may care, spoken word vocals release tension.
Vibrant, action-packed DIY visuals mix a sassy, in-your-face performance by Cosey Mueller with uninhibited party scenes starring Liza Vittong, Güner Künier, Magnus Krüger, Sid Fried, and L.A. Simon to sync with the soundtrack. Mueller wears an edgy leather jacket studded with ‘Cosey‘ on the back as she flirts and drinks with a clever piano playing devil. All the while, four fashionable onlookers and a guitar player dance and sing along.
Cosey Mueller‘s third LP, “Softcore”, will be released on October 10th via Static Age.
