WL//WH Video Of The Day: CLOSED TEAR “Time”

Video Of The Day  Closed Tear

The concept of the video grew from the desire to juxtapose the song’s lyric with imagery that recalls the haze of youth of what it felt to come of age in Los Angeles while finding strength and hope from one’s friends.

Harbor Area Los Ángeles based Dreampop/Post Punk DIY project of Christian Morales AKA Closed Tear has dropped an immersive video by LeMarc for the stirring new single “Time.”

“Time” travels in and out of subconscious fears and desires to weave a haunting web of worry, doubt, and dread through an introspective…

song about growing older and coming to terms with what your life became (and what it didn’t) and reconciling those feelings.

Organic bassline throbs drive moody magnetic vibrations through heart-racing beats and neurotic claps whilst obsessive guitar strings sparkle spiralling coils of sentimental pain around soft breathless male croons, releasing angsty longings into a slow rise of icy bright synth glow’s eerie ceremonial serenity.

The retro grainy film, directed, shot, and edited by LeMarc, glosses a dreamy stream of visual consciousness with time-travelling nostalgic bliss. Time out from life’s repetitive flow of routine roboticisms leads to a groovy day with friends spent wandering in a record store, jamming in a garage session, and swaying under the stars at a live gig. Cool skateboarding footage winds through a hazy lake party to carve carefree days and nights beyond the endless sunset horizons into an intoxicating nocturnal spin of disco ball light reflections.
