WL//WH Video Of The Day: BLUE REMAINS “Concrete” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day Blue Remains

Started in 2024, Blue Remains is the DIY post-punk revival solo project of César Natali from Buenos Aires, Argentina, drawing inspiration from The Cure, Depeche Mode, and Joy Division. He uses darkness not only as a language but as an atmosphere and an emotional connection to explore the tenebrous beauty of melancholy and emptiness, perfectly encapsulated by the Official Video for the new single “Concrete.”

A slow creep of disturbing silence from a vanished world dolefully echoes into a bleak, meandering bass line that throbs nervously along a steady, urgent drum machine, above which wistful ghostly synths and obsessively piercing guitars bleed pain around restless, whispery spoken words, turning to softly sung haunted anxiety when the dread of sleeping returns.

The visuals  for “Concrete” take a walk through a cemetery under partly cloudy skies while filters change perception from blurry and dull, juxtaposed with a clear, rich depth of vision. The beauty of the ornate stonework sets an evocative backdrop for the thoughtful use of ravens, stairways, and flickering lights, symbolically syncing with the soundtrack.
