Adam Byczkowski aka Better Person is a Polish-born, Berlin-based young singer/songwriter by way of that little big hotbed of alt-pop talents that is Montreal where he shareda short part of his early career along with eccentric artists like Sean Nicholas Savage and refined acts like the TOPS and Vesuvio Solo, with whom he shares the same stylistic choices and sensibility borrowed from the so called 80’s UK ‘sophisti-pop’, but also able of diverting towards even more sophisticated, persuasive and nuanced shores, made of sinuous and elegant melodies together with his visions of sensual minimalist intimacy.
‘Zakochany Człowiek / A Man In love’, from last year EP “It’s Only You” via Berlin’s label Mansions & Millions, sets out a break from his early R&B inspirations, in favour of a refined, passionate, profound and melancholic take on 80’s European synthpop, where all his songwriting elegance and emotional depth shine, over synthesized patterns, delicate electronic beats and a breathtaking Roy Molloy’s final sax solo, allowing us to appreciate his natural ability to inject into his music those fragile and intangible intimate feelings, usually lost in our quick and superficial everyday life.
