Video Of The Day ATTIC OCEAN
Founded at the end of 2019 as a project by four students, joined since 2021 by singer Hanni, and influenced by the most expansive, dreamy, and atmospheric guitar sound from the ’90s, merging elements of Shoegaze, Dreampop and Post-punk, the Düsseldorf, Germany based newcomers Attic Ocean have just dropped the band’s third and second 2-track single of the year “Escapades / Les Yeux Fermés”, accompanied by the music video by Niels Baumgarten, for the lead song “Escapades”, to be included in the forthcoming debut EP “The Heavy Blue and Then After”.
Imbued with lush dynamic feel-good auras, “Escapades” sparks off an underpinning sway of bouncy drum beats and vibrant humming bass lines, to fuel layers of angsty and obsessive ringing guitar melodies, along with misty reverberated riff outflows, into an urgent sparkling exuberant mood around breathless atmospheric vocals, finally feeling the bliss of romance, with endless harmonies of love.
The imaginative visuals by Niels Baumgarten capture the band in a casual, upbeat performance to sync seamlessly with the playful vibes of the soundtrack. A lively shimmery color-changing backdrop, strewn with nostalgic party décor, sets the tone whilst dizzying flows of motion, bird’s-eye view camera work, and engaging, dancing personalities bring the viewer into a fun celebration environ, giving a much-needed escape from these tense hot Summer days.
