WL//WH Video Of The Day: A SUDDEN BURST OF COLOUR “Forever”

Video Of The Day A Sudden Burst Of Colour

Scottish instrumental post-rock band from Motherwell, A Sudden Burst Of Colour, made up of Luke Duncan and Callum Brand on guitar, Liam Shaw on drums, and Calum Farquharson on bass, have recently unveiled the first track “Forever” from their upcoming double A-side new single “Forever/Captivator”, Digital/CD, due to be released on the 20th of July, alongside two remixes by Joey Fehrenbach and NIGHTBLIND.

The quartet, since their debut EP in 2013, create seamlessly an equally atmospheric and energetic brand of captivating post-rock, weaving, with overwhelming delicacy, urgency and balance, intricate dazzling dynamics and immersive slow flows to a wide entrancing palette of visionary instrumental textures, swaying between nature and spirituality, breathtaking landscapes and infinite horizons, to elicit a dizzying array of diverse feelings and emotions amidst sadness and deep melancholy, rapture and elation.

Glares of resonant glistening guitar melodies sparkle, pierce, and linger into layers of steadily airy acoustic arpeggios and deep pinpoint bass expansions, scattered in shuffling crispy drumbeats, to awaken intense contemplative and euphoric moods that rise and fall into a moment of clarity before a powerful release along a harmonic stream of consciousness.

The visuals, directed by Phillip Edge, reveal a dramatic dance interpretation performed by Cait Irvine swept in explosive auras of isolated bliss, releasing an extreme flow of uninhibited expression against the dark tree-lined shores and vast turbulent seas, as a mysterious introspection casts secret shadows of doubt onto the silent sufferings found within.
