WL//WH Track Premiere: XTR HUMAN “Dreams”

WL//WH Premiere  XTR HUMAN

Berlin-based ‘Brutalo-Pop’ band XTR HUMAN, lead by frontman and mastermind Johannes Stabel, increasingly approach the release of their sophomore album “Interior”, unveiling another track, entitled “Dreams”, which WL//WH is very pleased to premiere.

Six years after the XTR HUMAN‘s debut LP, “Atavism”, the new LP continues on the same sonic path started by the “Reflections” EP released in 2018, a sparkling shoegaze / post-punk hybrid.
This is ’80s post-punk building a bridge to the UK indie rock of the 21st century, it is as entertaining as it is focused on slick songwriting, with a crisp production by Lemmy Fischer from Jaguwar.

Equally dark and bright, vibrant and densely atmospheric “Dreams” triggers restless intricate skipping drum pattern, interspersed by whipping snare beat, ominously grumbling bassline and muted shimmering guitar strums smouldering steadily together with weaving icy lustrous swathes of synth, expanding into sparkling bursts of blissful euphoria over deep, deluded intense male vocals, struggling to find harmony, while falling into a final ecstatic bittersweet goodbye
Johannes explains: ‘Dreams’ turned out a thundering hymn between 80s post-punk and shimmering shoegaze. It is the serene retrospective on life in dreams, the thin line between the ambition to live your dreams or just chasing phantasies.

XTR HUMAN‘s sophomore album “Interior” is slated for release on May 29, 2020, Vinyl, CD, cassette, download, via independent Berlin-based label Blackjack Illuminist Records in co-operation with No Emb Blanc.
