Stockholm based Indie-Pop band Well Adjusted, led by singer and songwriter Emma Pettersson along with guitarist Aron Lange (formerly member of Dim Vanilla, Delsbo Beach Club, Concrete Blossoms), guitarist Oscar Krantz and drummer Phil Pleade, returns in the new year as a five-piece with the addition of bass player Emil Petersson, and the new sophomore single, “I’m Not There”, a song about ‘wanting to stay in a daydream to avoid the mundane.’
The track captures the timeless melodic vibrancy and the emotional tension of classic 80s and mid-90s British guitar pop bands straddling along the Smiths to the Suede through a solid and dynamic rhythm section and energetic, shimmering guitar work to frame the captivating melodramatic and vividly emotive Emma’s vocal delivery.
Sparkling nostalgic arpeggiated chords reverberate along beautiful heartfelt and poignant confessions to stir wandering sharp guitar riffs, rippling with jangly ringing melodies, underpinned by tumbling drum beats and hearty lithe bass lines, to rise and fall with breathless, aching harmonies above the turbulent chaotic surge of heartache and regret.
The new single, recorded by the band, mixed by Erik Fernholm (Amason) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna), is available on all the major streaming platforms.
