San Diego‘s goth four-piece Warsaw are going to release their sophomore self-released EP “Wires” in the next few days.
Born out the disbanding of ILYA in 2015, the band, named after a discussion about the Polish capital uprising of 1944 and with a clear nod to the ‘usual suspect’ Joy Division, is comprised of Demetrius Antuña and John Mattos (both formerly of ILYA) along with Rebecca Antuña and former Kata Lance LaFave.
After a promising, late 2016, self-titled debut EP, they’re increasingly refining and personalizing their genre-defying cinematic and atmospheric dark sound.
From this overall excellent 6-track, I personally picked ‘Bones’, a bewitching dark synth wave pop number, built on emotional and wistful male/female dual vocals flowing into hypnotic synth layers, pulsating bass line, evocative and breath-taking guitars chords and steady drums, so enthralling and intense, that it’ll get under your skin and will soothe your romantically gloomy souls.
Keep up with Warsaw :
