We got to know the darkly seductive singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, Vienna Vox, through last February’s rather captivating shoegaze/dream-pop tinged collaboration with Seattle‘s artist Analog Tears.
Vienna Vox‘s own solo project involves instead atmospheric, uncanny, electronic-fueled Darkwave soundscapes, as icy and ethereal, as well as sinuous and enveloping, enhanced by her alluringly haunting vocal delivery.
The new single, “The Void”, is imbued with desperate lyrics that flounder in a void of broken dreams, lies, and obsessions.
Cold, dark auras layer hypnotic lashing beats, a jerkily pulsing droning bassline, and dim hollow icy bright twinkles with doomy, sulking moods, to haul soft, mysterious, and seductive female vocals through winding drifts of breathless longings.
