WL//WH Track Of The Day Vera Slö
Revealing themselves with last year’s intriguing debut EP “Astratta” via the independent label Kosmica Dischi, the Italian Shoegaze outfit formerly known as Ultranøia, born in Southern Lazio, in the summer of 2023, returns with the new name of Vera Slö, due to homonymy issues, and a brand new single “Rêverie”, the title track of the upcoming second EP.
Nestled in a profound emotional rollercoaster teetering between abrasive shards of rippling, high-strung distortion and quieter, more introspective parts, the Cassino-based four-piece deftly mix simmering heaviness and pensive vulnerability, through Shoegaze and Alternative Rock elements, in noisy, dizzy, and fuzzed-out fashion, embroidered with a thought-provoking, reflective lyricism in the best Italian tradition.

Perfectly encapsulated by the new tortuous and emotively agonizing new track, about how you lose part of your identity when you drop expectations and let go of the past, that meanders restlessly on a soul-punching rhythm-section of stumbling, tightly insistent drumming, and a resonant chugging bassline, fueling thick digging guitar riffs and swelling, excruciating, piercing strains, to echo deeply emotional, melancholic vocals, dripping with aching pain.
Keep up with Vera Slö:
