WL//WH Track (Video) Of The Day: TRILLION “Echoes of a Sunny Smile”

Track Of The Day  TRILLION

Trillion, the Australian five piece from Sydney, announces their second studio album, “Feel Alright,” the follow up to their 2023 debut “So Soon Now,” with the first excerpt “Echoes of a Sunny Smile.”

Fine purveyors of a visceral and swirling, highly textured brand of Shoegaze, the band “trace their roots back to the greats like My Bloody Valentine and Ride and local heroes Flyying Colours and Deafcult, adding an extra dose of 60s surf, psych and pop for good measure.”

“Echoes of a Sunny Smile,” a song about a person who anticipates the comfort of seeing a sunny smile when they close their eyes at night, balances heart-warming melody and bracing noise beautifully.

Steady bustling drum beats and humming bass lines unremittingly fuel broad and thick, cascading fuzz-drenched waves of buzzing, tumultuous guitar layers, to wobble wistfully, with a ringing surge of weeping high spirals, funnelling a rip-roaring emotional intensity within angsty, sad female vocals radiating into baritone haloes, to obsessively be reassured that it feels alright.

To sync with the stirring cathartic flow of the soundtrack, a visualizer with trippy overlays transforms Trillion as they perform “Echoes of a Sunny Smile.”

Trillion‘s sophomore album, “Feel Alright,” is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2025.
