WL//WH Track Of The Day : Très Oui ‘Séance’

Track Of The Day

Austin is currently, with Portland, the best American source of exciting new music, and I’ve just got overwhelmed by the warm infectious melodies from the four-piece (featuring members of Rose Selavy and Literature), Très Oui , right from the capital of Texas.
They’ve just relesed early this year their debut EP on Square Of Opposition Records linked with the excellent local blog Austin Town Hall Records , I completely missed.
‘Séance’ is the first taster from the forthcoming debut album ‘Poised to Flourish’ on the Californian Shrimper Records.
Très Oui is one of the increasingly number of American bands, think of Beach Fossils or Real Estate, that get  inspiration from the a certain British guitar sound of the 80’s and if the most part of your record collection is filled with Sarah Records 7″s, Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera, Lloyd Cole & The Commotions or the most whimsical C86 bands, you’ll easily find a little place for this little gem, a casket of feverish rhythmic, shimmering and sparkling jangle guitars, irresistible melodic hooks and warm chorus, impossible not to be delighted and enraptured. After having barely resisted to the sugary temptations of Christmas time, next February, luckily for us, we don’t stand a chance.

Keep up with Très Oui :
