Yesterday I was tired and bored, and as often happens, here’s the song that magically saved my day.
To be honest I don’t know much about post-rock, just accidentally when mixed with shoegaze or ambient, I can’t say I dislike it, but sometime it’s only a matter of time and priority.
I know the Nashville‘s ambient/post-rock duo Hammock, comprised of composers Marc Byrd and Andrew Thompson, for a collaboration in 2010 with Steve Kilbey e Tim Powles of The Church, they’ve already released 8th albums, totally DIY, filled with deep emotions and genuinity.
The Summer Kills is the pair’s collaboration with singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan, it took seven years for perfecting, developing and finally releasing the full length titled “Last Night We Became Swans” due out April 27, 2018.
The first preview “Collide” sets the tone for an already long-awaited album with a rich and majestic sound of spellbinding allure, interspersed with 80’s flavours of early Bunnymen, purged by their dark soul, and U2, masterly crafted of mesmerising blending layers of shimmering guitars, lush keaybords with pounding rhythms and melancholic and emotional vocals, and moulded in a way that makes it as much urgent and visceral as truly timeless compelling listen.
Keep up with The Summer Kills :
