WL//WH Track Of The Day : SOMEWHERE “Forever”

Track Of The Day

Another very good song that flew recently under my radar, but swallowed by the hot and overcrowded holiday period, is the new single“Forever”, after last year debut EP “Sadness”, from Mexico City based young noisy shoegazers Somewhere, comprised of Ivan Flores (vocals, guitar), Iván Bosco (Bass) and Jarub Arizabalo (drums).
It has also been included in second volume of the 18-track compilation of Latino-American shoegaze / dream pop bands, titled “You’re Still in a Dream II”, via the Mexican independent net label Stupid Decisions.

“Forever” is a sublime atmospheric haze of a romantic love-struck pop balladry about longing, heartbreak, dreams, and true love. An intimate and absorbing melding of dream pop and shoegaze, slowly flowing into narcotic somber guitars chords with slight bursts of distortions, backed by precise and smooth rhythm section, to create an hypnotic and dream-laden soundscape that radiate a unfulfilled yet blissful melancholy intensified by the magnetized and wistful vocals that deeply encapsulate overwhelming feelings of lust, yearning desire and romance. His love is so strong it is hard to decipher what is real at times, as he just longs to be with his beloved, “I want to see your eyes again, forever”.

Keep up with Somewhere :
